Maison Margiela x Pendelton Provide Plaid Punk Realness

Joining the Co-Ed Fall 2023 collection.

Maison Margiela is joining forces with American textile company Pendleton Woolen Mills, delivering the new collaboration within the brand’s Co-Ed Fall 2023 collection.

Plaid is the range’s protagonist, embracing Pendleton’s signature print. For the collaboration, John Galliano hand-picked mid-century weaves from the mill’s archive, choosing a sooting sunset plaid comprised of baby blue and pastel pink, joining a classic red buffalo print and a white, red and black arrangement.

Artfully tailored leather skirts and fishnets add a punk rock aesthetic, while acid-wash denim trench coats deliver a subversive sense of elegance. Swaths of seafoam green tulle evoke whimsy, joining the collection’s fanciful hats. The collaboration stays true to its unisex ethos, offering oversized jackets lined with dainty ruffles and paired with tweed shorts. Elsewhere, multi-colored plaid boxers cheekily peek out of khakis outfitted with a pastel version of the pattern on the waistband.

Maison Margiela’s Pendleton collaboration and Co-Ed Fall 2023 collection are available now in-store and online. Take a look in the gallery above.
