Keke Palmer Isn't Subscribing to "Unrealistic" Body Standards — And Says neither Should You

Keke Palmer knows that “health is wealth” but also speaks very frankly about how staying tight and right is all a part of the job. However, she wants to clarify that she’s doing it for herself and that she has no intention of setting “unrealistic” body standards for her fans.

On the latest episode of her podcast series Baby, This Is Keke Palmer, she got into the deets of her staying on top of her exercise regime, “It’s my job. Let’s not get crazy, I don’t want people thinking I am setting unrealistic standards,” she exclaims during the conversation with her trainer Corey Calliet. “I can afford a trainer, meal prep and a lot of things.” The new mother says it was a “personal choice” to stick with her fitness routine. “Your journey is your journey. You figure it out the best way you can. And when you look at these celebs and people in the industry, know it’s their job.”

Palmer has also been very candid about her postpartum journey and provided a lot of insights during the interview on looking good for yourself and reclaiming your femininity — which many women have reported losing site of after giving birth. The star did mention that she noticed a lot of things she had to be mindful of with her body after having her child that wasn’t on her radar before. She says it was the fear of having the extra weight that became her strength and motivated her to pick up training and working out.
