Courrèges' SS24 Slayed So Hard, Models Broke the Runway (Literally)

A study of light, movement and imagination.

CourrègesSpring/Summer 2024 collection departed from traditional fashion norms, challenging the brand’s House rules by transforming signature geometries into fluid, versatile shapes.

The range reimagined familiar campus archetypes as experimental silhouettes, blending elements to express bodily freedom. Slouchy polo dresses, oversized Harrington vests and biker jackets were deconstructed and reassembled asymmetrically. Necklines were altered to enhance body posture, symbolizing newfound beliefs. New Age symbols adorned leather armor and breastplates, paying homage to the elements.

Nicolas Di Felice sought to rewrite symbols of male-led history with an empowering narrative of female pioneers. The runway stage, conceived by artist Remy Brière, drew inspiration from the stripped-back strategies of Land Art, echoing the clash of Mind and Nature and perforated as models walked past.

Overall, the collection captured hope through light, movement and imagination. The staged exodus symbolizes faith in the unknown, where, “whatever lays beyond is just a matter of faith.”

Take a look at the complete Courrèges’ SS24 lineup in the gallery above.
