This New Exhibition Celebrates the Powerful Faces of Netflix's 'Top Boy'
Opening on September 9 in celebration of the final season.
Netflix just announced the opening of its brand-new exhibition, celebrating the end of Top Boy‘s final chapter.
Dubbed “Portrait of a Top Boy,” the exhibition will take place at Somerset House’s Embankment Galleries and bring together a selection of both established and emerging Black artists based in the UK. Curated by multi-disciplinary artist Ronan McKenzie, the exhibition seeks to commemorate and celebrate the cultural impact that Top Boy has had on British television, on its viewership and on the emerging British talent that its production has helped to mentor.
Displaying 16 newly commissioned portraits from artists like Brianna Parker, Gabriel Choto, Tejumola Butler Adenuga, Kione Grandison, Olivia Twist and Natasha Muluswela, the exhibition will feature faces like Ashley Walters, Little Simz and Jasmine Jobson.
Each of the artists has explored their personal relationship with their chosen character, and their perception of what it means to be a “Top boy.”
Take a sneak peek at one of the portraits above, before the exhibition opens on September 9 at Somerset House. The exhibition will run for a limited time only, ending on September 13.
