Kendall Jenner Closes Victoria Beckham SS24

With a collection inspired by ballet and the relationship between clothing and movement.

Victoria Beckham presented another showcase at Paris Fashion Week this season, complete with a slew of celebrity guests, friends and family members and Kendall Jenner closing the show. For Spring/Summer 2024, the designer’s collection harked back to Beckham’s study of classic and contemporary ballet during her formative years, and subsequently aimed to explore the relationship between movement and clothing.

Hosted at Karl Lagerfeld‘s former home (much like Marni’s PFW debut), the showcase presented a range of tailored and sculpted silhouettes, delicately draped gowns and tops and slouchy, thin knitwear pieces. Pieces were paired with knee-high socks and boots, with this season’s color palette informed the works of French impressionist Edgar Degas — more specifically, his work of ballerinas — alongside Monet’s series on the Houses of Parliament and his studies of Les Meules.

Oversized shirts and knitwear were balanced by shorter, skimpier silhouettes and boots, while silkier gowns were paired with chunkier footwear in a bid to offset their delicacy.

TOUCH: Texture continues to play a big part in VB’s design process, offering a fusion of soft silks, lightweight knits and patent-effect footwear. Sheer hosiery was paired with poplin-like dresses and co-ordinates, complete with heavy-rimmed glasses.

TASTE: Tailoring, suiting and menswear continues to have an influence on SS24 dressing, with masculine cuts reimagined by shorter silhouettes and feminine details. Also, glasses are back and they’re cooler than ever — especially if you don’t need them to actually see, it appears…
