Junya Watanabe MAN and New Balance Debut the 1906 Loafer
The hybrid shoe made its first appearance on the runway.
As always, Paris Fashion Week is a place for newness and excitement and alongside designers presenting new season collections, there are often a few surprise-and-delight moments along the way. For Fall/Winter 2024, one such moment came in the form of a Junya Watanabe Man x New Balance 1906 Loafer.
Debuted on the runway, the new hybrid shoe appears in a sleek black, crafted with a sneaker-inspired sole which mimics New Balance’s 1906 silhouette, utilizing its toe guards, midsole and sole. Elsewhere, the shoe’s upper draws from classic loafer designs, featuring a black leather construction alongside a penny-style toe segment.
Fusing leather and rubber with a technical design, the loafer-sneaker is rounded out by a Junya Watanabe Man tag on its toe, alongside a small New Balance branded tag on the side.
