Bvlgari Debuts Yellow Gold Bvlgari Tubogas Jewelry Collection
Inspired by the innovative 1940s technique, the new range arrives in a variety of styles.
This year, Bvlgari delves into its extensive archives to launch its new Bvlgari Tubogas collection, inspired by the iconic technique that defined the Maison’s avant-garde approach to high jewelry.
Inspired by the pipe used to transport pressurized gas in the 1920s, the Tubogas method was first introduced in the Roman Jeweler’s creativity in the ‘40s, at a time when Art Déco dominated the jewelry market. It soon became widely incorporated throughout the Jewelry House’s distinctive style, not only paving the way for its signature design language and elevated aesthetic but also its innovative vision in the field.
With its origins embedded in the brand’s rich heritage, the new Bvlgari Tubogas collection stands as a testament to its exceptional artisanship. Constructed by winding two strips of gold around a central core, the meticulous detail required to create the pieces allows them to interlock seamlessly without the need for soldering. The result: making the gold flexible, yet highly durable and built to last a lifetime.
This skillful, hallmark technique was first incorporated into the creation of the Maison’s iconic Serpenti Tubogas jewelry watch in 1948. By the ‘70s, Bvlgari was weaving this into its other signature collections, and it soon became a highly coveted design adorned by trend-setting figures of the time. Still used today, the unique process continues to inform the construction of its jewelry range.
Returning to its roots, the Maison presents the new Bvlgari Tubogas collection in a full 18-carat yellow gold offering that honors its legacy using the precious metal. Comprised of an array of pieces and designs embracing the brand DNA including three bracelet versions arriving in minimal yellow gold, trigold, and pavé studs that form the core of the range all paired with matching necklaces. Elsewhere, Bvlgari also introduces its most precious collection from the offering: the Tubogas Parentesi. A nod to bold ‘70s aesthetics, the design is inspired by Roman pavements and pays homage to the Maison’s rich Italian heritage.
The complete range also features three brand-new necklace designs adopting a never-used-before triangular shape. This unique style showcases the masterful experimentation conducted by the Maison’s artisans who continue to push the boundaries of innovative jewelry making which historically defined its elegant style.
Leaning into mythology and history, alongside the launch, Bvlgari is also expanding its Serpenti range with the introduction of two jewelry sets in yellow gold, comprised of a necklace and ring set as well as a bracelet and a uniquely precious necklace. Crafted in the same way as the Tubogas, it boasts an extraordinary design where the signature snake’s head can be opened and closed, allowing it to be tailored to the wearer’s desire.
