Polo Ralph Lauren Reveals Navajo Weaver Naiomi Glasses' Second "Artist in Residence" Collection

Titled “Color in Motion.”

Polo Ralph Lauren has unveiled Navajo weaver Naiomi Glasses‘ second “Artist in Residence” collection.

The seventh-generation Navajo artist initially began her partnership with the brand back in December, showcasing her vivid tapestries and ancestral designs. Her latest collection, “Color in Motion” lives up to its name, offering richly pigmented apparel that incorporates Glasses’ traditional motifs, along with her love for skateboarding. Compromised of women’s, men’s and children’s clothing and accessories, the 24-piece range puts Navajo designs front and center, proudly displaying four-directional crosses and wedge-weave emblems. Glasses’ heritage permeates throughout the collection as the color palette of turquoise, orange, yellow and red nod to Navajo philosophy.

Glasses continues to pay homage to her roots with the inclusion of silver and turquoise jewelry made by Navajo and Hopi families. “Indigenous artists don’t usually get these big collaborations because no one really looks to our communities, but with this [partnership], it’s beautiful because we get to celebrate our artists and it’ll also open so many doors for others,” Glasses shared with Hypebeast.

“Color in Motion” is available via Ralph Lauren’s online store with a percentage of proceeds going to the Phoenix Children’s Foundation Patient and Family Assistance Funds for Native American Families and the Center for Cleft & Craniofacial Care.
