One of the first resale platforms, eBay will now allow its users to work with experts to sell pre-loved goods on their behalf. This will prevent high-end garments from collecting dust or ending up in a landfill by extending their lifecycle. With more consumers becoming aware of how wasteful fashion can be, circular fashion is increasing in popularity.
Last year, twenty-two shirts, six pairs of jeans and eight coats were sold every minute on eBay in the United States, United Kingdom and Germany — all pre-loved. eBay experimented with handbag consignment in the past as a Chanel 19 Flap Bag surpassed average sales for similar bags by over 45 percent. This brings good news for both buyers and sellers who my be experiencing over saturation on other platforms.
