Nixit's Condoms Are for the Girls

“We’re empowering people to confidently and shamelessly take control of their sexual health.”

Condoms have been dominating discussions in fashion. Yet in the world of sex, condoms ironically received little playtime, especially for women. Rachael Newton, founder of sexual wellness brand nixit, is here to change pleasure as we know it — for the girls.

We’ve all seen it. Overtly masc and dark colored condom packaging, with an emphasis on d-ck size, endurance and a list of ingredients destined to f-ck up your pH. As the founder of nixit told us, “We deserve better. Rarely do options prioritize vaginal health. It shouldn’t be a challenge to find ones with ingredients we recognize that won’t disrupt our pH.”

nixit, known for its menstrual cups — and clever cup insertion — launched condoms in January of 2024 “with vaginas in mind.” With bright pink packaging and affordable prices starting as low as $4 USD, nixit is leading a new wave of ultra-femme sexual wellness and its a slay.

According to Newton, they’re “changing the narrative around buying and carrying condoms, breaking the idea that men are responsible while others are promiscuous when doing so. In the same way that we are destigmatizing period products, the stigma around condoms is counterproductive. We’re empowering people to confidently and shamelessly take control of their sexual health.”

For those with sensitive vulvas, the new offering is only made with two ingredients, “natural rubber latex and pure silicone oil.” Newton revealed that the brand was very intentional about “avoiding UTI-causing ingredients.”

Alongside its new condoms for the girls, Newton is dedicated to teach sex ed through her products. Given that sex education dropped the ball on several aspects from pleasure to where to find the clit, many women don’t even consider carrying their own protection. But as Newton shared, “Carrying condoms is a small but powerful step women can take to be in control of their bodies.”

“We’ve never been empowered to shamelessly prioritize our sexual health, and I want to change that,” Newton continued. No matter which age group you belong to, “It’s never too late to start setting boundaries. People deserve to enjoy planned and/or spontaneous sex when they want, without compromising on safety and relying on partners to provide the protection.”

Not only is “Carrying our own condoms is sexy” but “condoms are known for preventing pregnancy and STIs, intentionally choosing ones with cleaner ingredients can also prevent irritation, allergies, and UTIs – which is just as important for overall well-being,” and sexual wellness.
