TikTok’s "Couples Dictionary" Trend Is the Cutest Thing Ever
How an inside joke is helping couples build intimacy.
If you haven’t seen the “Couples Dictionary” trend on TikTok, prepare for the most wholesome dating content on the interwebs.
From ABC dating to boysober tendencies, TikTok is the home of trends. Often, relationship trends make singles cringe but this trend? It’s so good even the girlies who proudly hate men are eating it up.
In between giggles and blushes, couples play their own version of Charades, where one person acts something out and the other has to guess what the other is referencing. For the trend, one lover holds up a phrase, written on their phone, and the other has to guess what phrase it is. The cute part? Each phrase is from the couple’s secret language.
Having a secret language with your besties is a habit that dates back to grade school. So it makes sense that as adults in love, we do the same thing. As Twitter user, Naij, shared, “To be loved is to be seen,” and that’s what makes these videos so special.
Keep scrolling for the cutest moments.
I usually don’t like TikTok couples videos but this couples dictionary trend is actually very cute and I am quite charmed by how people start to form their own language as they spend more time together ☺️🥺
