Dior's Peter Philips Called It, SS25 Is All About "Workout Blush"
Looking like you just came from the gym is so hot right now.
For Spring/Summer 2025, Dior‘s creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri was in a sporting mood. So it makes sense that Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup, Peter Philips, follow suit.
Philips began skincare prep by applying the Dior Capture Totale Le Sérum and Dior Capture Totale Hyalushot onto the skin for an extra burst of hydration, following up with the Dior Forever Skin Glow Foundation in each of the models’ coordinating shades. “I wanted to create the makeup look of an active and dynamic woman, on the move, who has just completed some intense physical activity. Her skin is bright and dewy, and her gaze is intense, highlighted by the remnants of a stroke of khôl liner,” explained Philips.
After contouring with the new Dior Forever Skin Contour, Philips opted for a rather unique blush placement. Instead of running the Dior Rouge Blush Colour & Glow in shades “100 Diorissimo,” “200 Diroama” and “757 Wildior” along the high points of the cheekbones for a contoured appearance, he brushed downward from the cheek to the corner of the jaw, so that the rouge could occupy the lower third of the face. Following the makeup artist’s vision, this technique mirrors that post-workout glow.
For the brows, it was simple — just a quick, natural-looking set and draw in with the Diorshow Brow Styler and Diorshow On Set Brow. Lips were adorned with just the Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil in “000 Universal Clear” and nails effortlessly painted on with the brand’s nail polish in shade “100 Nude Look.”
As for the eyes, Philips ran just the Diorshow On Stage Crayon in “099 Black” through both the upper and lower waterline with a tiny wing jutting out of the side of eye. The lower line was a bit messier, sans the usual clean-up you’d get after doing your makeup with a concealer or makeup remover.
Guido Palau lead the creative vision for hair, utilizing the chicest accessory we’ve seen thus far to tuck strands away from models’ faces: a Dior headband. With hair slicked back in a half-ponytail, half-bun, women on the runway literally looked like they walked out of the house on a mission, with little time to craft a hairstyle.
