Sinead O'Dwyer Says "Everything Opens to Touch" for SS25
The Irish designer returned to LFW with a presentation fusing music, poetry and film with live performances.
Sinéad O’Dwyer may have just made her debut in Copenhagen, but her London home will always have a special place in her heart, it seems. Showcasing her Spring/Summer 2025 collection at London Fashion Week, the Irish designer presented an immersive experience titled “Everything Opens To Touch.”
Drawing on the concept of “emotional intensity,” the presentation explored palpable connections and the nature of memory. Featuring sound by Witch Trials and Cosha, a poetry reading specially commissioning the works of Anastasiia Fedorova and an experimental film lensed by Sharna Osborne.
The film spotlights O’Dwyer’s collection in Copenhagen, showcasing the show’s Opera Park location which featured sculptures based on 3D scans of the designer’s early cast works of Jade O’Belle. Capturing the different models and collaborators, including supermodel Alva Claire and musician Mahalia, the video was filmed on VHS the day before the show, hoping to record the memories of romance, hunger and intimacy.
The collection itself sees O’Dwyer reimagining her signature, shibari-inspired harnesses through contemporary new details like slanted rara ruffles, micro-culottes and deep blue denim shirts. Elsewhere, the collection included puffy dresses in waxed cotton and distressed knitwear.
Along with Osborne’s film, the installation featured a live presentation of three couples kissing, inviting the audience to experience their intimate atmosphere, complete with a floral set design from Polly Philp. This season, long-term collaborator and casting director Emma Matell worked with Lover Management — a creative agency specializing in intimacy and the erotic — to cast the couples.
