With a performance art style runway show at the V&A Museum putting inclusivity front and center.
On Friday afternoon, Sinéad O’Dwyer transformed London’s Victoria & Albert Museum into a dramatic stage for its latest collection titled “Notice Me,” and notice we did. Unveiled as part of the institution’s renowned Fashion in Motion series, the showcase took place beneath towering Raphael paintings in a Renaissance dream, complete with dancing bodies clad in figure-hugging designs.
Drawing inspiration from Knead, the choreographed movement piece O’Dwyer developed with Grace Nicol for the Barbican in 2025, the collection celebrated physicality in all its forms. Models moved across the runway, occasionally breaking out into hypnotic choreography, which was later accompanied by a live performance from rock band Jeanie and The White Boys. This was a true sensory experience that brought the garments to life through gesture and rhythm.
Visually, “Notice Me” balanced technical precision with emotional intimacy. Warm neon handprints captured by photographer Ottilie Landmark appeared beneath shimmering liquid sequins, creating surfaces that seemed to pulse with movement. Elsewhere, polished zips and gleaming buttons hinted at garments in a constant state of fastening and release, while O’Dwyer’s collaboration with footwear designer Tabitha Ringwood continued through reimagined ghillies transformed into sculptural heeled mules.
As always, craftsmanship sat at the heart of the collection. Technical nylon dresses, sharply tailored suiting and dramatic bridal silhouettes demonstrated O’Dwyer’s innovative pattern-cutting and construction techniques. Yet the focus remained firmly on the wearer. Rather than creating clothes for a singular occasion, “Notice Me” proposed garments that adapt to every moment and every body, whether walking down the aisle, performing on stage or dancing until sunrise. It was a powerful reminder that O’Dwyer’s work has never simply been about fashion, but about celebrating bodies, movement and the freedom to be seen.
