Vivienne Westwood Celebrates Manga in an Exclusive Collaboration With NANA

With a collection inspired by the lead characters.

The unexpected collab that makes total sense? Vivienne Westwood and NANA. The luxury House teamed up with the cult manga series in celebration of its 25th anniversary, following the release of a limited-edition collectable NANA cover.

Ai Yazawa’s manga series has transcended entertainment and become a cultural phenomenon. So much more than just storytelling, NANA’s punk fashion aesthetic inspired by Vivienne Westwood has grabbed fans’ attention worldwide. For the anniversary, the fashion House partnered with VIZ Media for the capsule of archive styles illustrated by Yazawa.

The collection takes the personal style of the lead characters, Nana Komatsu and Nana Osaki. You’ll find the hyper-femininity of Nana Komatsu through pinks, pastels, pearls and printed accessories, while the punk edge of Nana Osaki is channelled through tartan twinsets, leather chokers and corsets. Contemporary evolutions of archival styles feature in pieces like the Stormy Jacket, in tartan with a black velvet lapel, asymmetric closure and enamel orb motif buttons, a nod to the Storm Jacket from the Fall/Winter 1996 “Storm In A Teacup” collection.

You’ll also find a range of exclusive jewelry, as illustrated in the series. The Nana Pearl Necklace features oversized baroque cream pearls and a silver-plated industrial cable chain with chunky clasps and finished with an orb motif pearl drop that combines the styles of both characters. A standout accessory is the exclusive Giant Orb Lighter, limited to only 250 pieces globally, that glistens with crystals and features an engraving with its unique edition number and hangs from a beaded chain. You may have to fight to get your hands on this one.

The Vivienne Westwood X NANA collection is now available at the Vivienne Westwood website and select stores globally.
