IDA Sports and Guinness Created a Rugby Boot That Puts Women First

Introducing the “Never Settle” boot.

IDA Sports, a brand dedicated to designing performance footwear for women, teamed up with Guinness to create a boot that should have existed long ago: the “Never Settle” boot — the first-ever soft-ground rugby boot designed specifically for female athletes.

For years, female athletes have had no choice but to wear football and rugby boots designed for men’s feet — shoes that don’t quite fit, fully support and often leave them at higher risk of injury. That changes now.

These boots are a long-overdue rethink of how performance-ready shoes should fit women’s feet. The “Never Settle” boot features strategically placed metal studs to maximize traction on wet, natural grass — essential for rugby players who need to stay agile in tough conditions. The design incorporates shades of purple, black and blue, with bold “IDA” and “NEVER SETTLE” branding on the side, plus unique black-and-white dotty laces and crisp white studs underneath.

For now, this boot is exclusive to the female athletes who competed in the Guinness Women’s Six Nations Rugby Tournament that took place this week, marking a major milestone for the sport. In a press release, Rugby player, Megan Jones called it “historic” and a “much-needed innovation for a positive step forward for the sport.”
