Remaining true to her four-year trend, the New Zealander prepares for a new era.

Lorde officially announces her next studio album is on the way.

Every four years, Lorde blesses her fans with a new project. Following her New York City meet and greet, where she simultaneously released “What Was That,” it was clear an album was next.

The album, Virgin, is set to release on June 27 via Republic Records. The cryptic cover art features human anatomy with a blue tint. According to the latest press release, Lorde’s new era will feature “a bold evolution in her sound and storytelling.”

Since the album announcement, “Lorde Virgin vinyl” is a breakout search on Google Trends signifying her four year hiatus didn’t slow down interest. “What Was That” YouTube comments also reflect a fanbase that’s eager for Virgin. ”And when the world needed her most, she returned,” a fan commented.

Recently, the musician joined Charli XCX‘s Brat era with an unforgettable feature on “The Girl, So Confusing” remix. The two pop stars were frequently compared to one another causing silent beef for years. The remix marked a moment of healing and the pair has been spotted across the world together — from Coachella to the studio. It’s unclear if Charli XCX will join the New Zealander’s next album but by the looks of their success together, one can only hope.

Stay tuned for updates.

In other news, Charli XCX is set to produce and act in a Japanese horror movie. Elsewhere, take your first look at Netflix’s Fear Street: Prom Queen.
