Solange Teams up With ILIA to Release Her Own Beauty Edit

Featuring five of her favorite products.

Grammy-winning singer Solange Knowles released her very own makeup edit in collaboration with clean beauty brand ILIA. Inspired by the Eldorado Ballroom Houston, a historical music hall known for amplifying Black artists — the “Eldorado Ballroom Edit” is not only a culmination of Knowles’ personal favorite ILIA products, it’s a brand new creative medium for the multidisciplinary artist.

This summer, Knowles and Saint Heron curated a series of live performances to preserve the legacy of Black artists. As this edit with ILIA was made to support Knowles’ work with Saint Heron, it also serves as a way to bridge her curatorial endeavors with her artistic ones.

“When I’m on the curatorial side of my practice with Saint Heron and The Eldorado Ballroom, it’s truly about finding a balance of being rooted in the work, the research and the expression of these performances — but also showing up with the ease of feeling grounded in looking and feeling myself, and my best,” Knowles says in a press release.

The “Eldorado Ballroom Edit” harps on Knowles’ longtime love for ILIA’s skin-first ethos. Knowles says that the collaboration is rooted in her and the brand’s shared philosophy of natural, luminous skin — as well as her desire to celebrate the Eldorado Ballroom Tour through beauty.

The edit includes five products curated by the artist and designer: The Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40, the Limitless Lash Mascara, the Eye Stylus Shadow Stick in “Opulent,” the In Frame Brow Gel and the Lip Wrap Reviving Balm. It’s available to purchase for $136 USD on the brand’s website.
