Nike and Skims Drop Their First-Ever Collection

Celebrating the strength of women.

We all know that women are the epitome of strength, and now Nike and SKIMS are coming together to celebrate this. With their debut line, “NikeSKIMS” spans seven collections and 58 silhouettes, which works out to offering over 10,000 style combinations. Yes, we did the math.

The two brands coming together mark a brand-new product offering that combines Nike’s performance engineering with SKIMS’ sculpting and solutions-first approach. Layers are designed to both support and move with the female body, while flattering lines and shaping fabrics create something to make you look, feel and perform at your best.

The first drop will comprise three core collections and four seasonal. The Matte collection is designed to offer mid-level compression with targeted smoothing, using Nike’s Dri-FIT performance technology to also make the products sweat-wicking. The Shine collection offers similar technology but this time with a stylish sheen to finish it off, while the Airy collection offers breathable, mesh-inspired knits perfect for layering, low-impact exercise and laid-back styling. Serena Williams shared, “I feel unstoppable when I’m training in it.” If it works for Serena, it works for us.

For the complementary seasonal lines, a highlight is the Vintage Seamless collection, designed with a seamless knitting technology and wash technique to create a worn-in, vintage-inspired look perfect for going from the studio to beyond. The styling options really are endless.

To mark the drop, a campaign film titled “Bodies at Work” was released, directed by Janicza Bravo, alongside photography by Luis Alberto Rodriguez and Rob Woodcox. Together, these feature more than 50 athletes, including Serena Williams and, of course, Kim Kardashian (a different kind of athlete). Kardashion shared in the press release, the “film celebrates every woman’s strength and power.” Building on Nike’s commitment to inspiring women and girls to dream big and use their bodies, this collaboration is something we can’t wait to get our hands on and actually has us excited to return to the gym.

The first collection drops September 26 on both the Nike and SKIMS websites.
