Inside the Group Exhibition Inviting Viewers To Question Reality
Featuring 19 artists across a range of mediums.
Minimal Gallery in New York is spotlighting a collective of artists who are actively reimagining the world around them. The group exhibition, Impossibilities (Meet Me In Utopia) curated by Samuel Schler, invites viewers to question reality as it exists and consider what could be.
Featuring works by 19 artists across a wide range of mediums, the exhibition pushes the boundaries of painting, photography, sculpture, textiles and beyond. Each creative challenges their own discipline, placing critical thought and experimentation at the forefront. Set against a backdrop of ongoing social and political uncertainty, the works respond to the present moment while searching for new ways forward. Through explorations of form, figure, objects and abstract concepts, Impossibilities offers a vision of alternative futures that feels both urgent and imaginative.
Artists featured in the show include Angela Santana (previously featured on Hypebae), alongside Wes Aderhold, Vincent Laine, Sally Oh and more. The exhibition space itself was designed by British spatial designer Oli Colman, whose past collaborators include Madonna and Adele. Colman’s installation features two translucent hanging sculptures that allow light to pass through while partially obscuring sightlines, a poetic and literal interpretation of the exhibition’s central theme.
Impossibilities (Meet Me In Utopia) is on view now through January 26. If you’re in New York, this is one exhibition worth experiencing in person. Head to the gallery’s website for more information.
