NikeSKIMS Expands Into Footwear With the Mesh Rift

Releasing its first shoe with a sleek take on a Nike favorite.

NikeSKIMS has taken the activewear landscape by storm, and now the brand is releasing its first-ever shoe to match with your new go-to workout set. Drawing from one of Nike’s established footwear silhouettes, the NikeSKIMS Mesh Rift features a sleek, split-toe design perfect for the pilates studio, the gym or everyday wear. Arriving in three muted colorways, this is already one of the biggest drops of the year.

The Mesh Rift has a similar base design to the popular Nike Air Rift, with the tabi sneaker being one of the brand’s most loved and highly-debated footwear staples in recent years. For NikeSKIMS, the shoe arrives in earth tones, matching the aesthetic of the brand’s apparel. There are three colorways to launch the footwear collection: “Black,” “Velvet Brown” and “Archaeo Brown.”

The minimalistic design includes a single strap with embossed branding, keeping the foot secure during workouts or errands. Inspired by barefoot running shoes, the slim design has a close, barely-there feel. A breathable, mesh upper is accented by suede for a fashion-forward look. Who said activewear has to be boring?

The NikeSKIMS Mesh Rift will be available to purchase on both the Nike and SKIMS websites, as well as select retailers starting January 26.

In other news, Korean brand DIRDDY released a fur-lined Clarks Originals Wallabee.
