LOEWE Perfumes' New Candle Is Inspired by a Beloved British Dessert
Introducing “Banoffee.”
LOEWE Perfumes is expanding its lineup with “Banoffee,” the newest candle in its Home Scents range. The warming scent joins a collection rooted in botanical notes and is inspired by banoffee pie, the British dessert first created in the early 1970s at The Hungry Monk restaurant in East Sussex.
The restaurant’s owner and chef say they based the dessert on a San Francisco toffee pie recipe before adding banana. The finished pie layers banana, toffee and whipped cream over a biscuit or pastry base. As a cult-favorite on the menu, the new fragrance echoes the comforting nature of the pie by pairing tropical banana with caramelized sugar around a rich banana amber accord, evolving as it burns from soft, ripe banana when unlit to a deeper, flambéed warmth once lit.

The natural wax candle arrives in a new midi size, housed in LOEWE’s signature terracotta vessel. As with the rest of the Home Scents collection, the design references a terracotta mug from the late fifth century BC. For “Banoffee,” the glossy ribbed vessel is glazed in an ombré of warm caramel tones, with LOEWE’s signature anagram stamped on the base.
The “Banoffee” candle retails for $290 USD and is available for purchase on the brand’s website.
