Paloma Wool Channels Margot Tenenbaum in the Beauty Details
We talked to makeup artist Karin Westerlund about the inspiration behind the SS27 looks and prepping the skin with Abib.
Barcelona-based brand Paloma Wool made its return to Paris Fashion Week for the Spring/Summer 2027 season. Leaning into Brat Star’s song “Margot Tenenbaum,” which served as the show’s opening soundtrack, the beauty looks drew inspiration from the cult-favorite character, along with pastel touches from the collection’s color palette.
“The makeup is a bit of a nod to the character Margot in the film The Royal Tenenbaums. A few of the models have a sky blue eyeshadow also, and this sky blue is inspired by the end of the horizon, [which is] reflected onto the collection, which has a lot of horizontal lines,” head makeup artist Karin Westerlund tells Hypebae. While the glam emphasized varying bold eye looks, glowy skin was the one constant.

To execute the dewy base, Westerlund relied on skincare products from K-beauty brand Abib. “For me, as a makeup artist, skin prep is a really important part of the makeup look. Good makeup always starts with good skin, and to have good skin, the key is good skin prep and good skincare,” she says. “Today we were using products from Abib that are deeply hydrating, which is great at the end of fashion week, as a lot of models come and they have skin that is a bit damaged, dehydrated or sensitive after weeks of traveling and working.” Just like the beauty details help shape the shows at fashion month, skincare is an overlooked yet essential part of tying the vision together.
