Alysa Liu Laces Up With Nike for a Post-Winter Olympics Review
Bringing her personal stye to some of the Swoosh’s newest silhouettes.
Alysa Liu is still reeling from her historic gold medal win at the Winter Olympics last month, but the world’s favorite figure skater always has time to turn a look. We’ve gotten used to her style on the ice, with stunning dresses framing every spin and jump, but Liu is reintroducing us to her off the ice persona. In a post-Olympics review and catch-up with Nike, Liu’s personal style proves that her hair isn’t the only thing we all want to copy this year.
Ahead of Air Max Day, Alysa styles the Nike Air Liquid Max in a way that stays true to herself. The neon highlights of the shoe are matched to an electric Air Max T-shirt. In the Nike x Jacquemus collaborative Moon Shoe, her Bay Area skater girl chic style shines trough again, with layers tees and baggy cargos a far cry from the campaigns we’re used to seeing the sneakers in.
Talking through her Winter Olympics experience, Liu reflects on how her win at the Games redefined what success looks like and her journey to get there. Always inspiring and vocal about the changes needed for her to get back on the ice, Liu’s story is one that feels familiar to many female athletes.
In the interview with Nike, Liu said, “To feel free again, I had to unlearn routine. I was kind of stuck in the same day over and over again. But if you want a different life, you have to make different choices. I had to switch my inputs to have a different output.”
