Lacoste FW26 Was an Ode To Rain-Soaked Style
Inspired by a washed-out game that René [Lacoste] played in 1923.
Pelagia Kolotouros unveiled the Lacoste Fall/Winter 2026 collection, a lineup that swaps the heat of the court for the atmospheric tension of a rain delay. Staged at the iconic Roland-Garros stadium, the runway transformed the Philippe Chatrier court into a reenactment of a legendary 1923 match where a torrential downpour forced players and fans to seek shelter.

Kolotouros emphasizes that the “sport DNA” is integrated into sophisticated tailoring through subtle details like Velcro adjustments and laser-cut, bonded suits. These techniques result in a “super clean, very minimal and precise” finish that remains soft and comfortable.
Standout garments like the poncho polo and a pleated trench skirt reinterpret tennis classics through a modern, gender-fluid lens, while reflective finishes and wet-look textures provide a visual nod to the flooded grass of Deauville. The attention to detail extends to the accessories, including crystals and protective slipcovers on shoes and bags.
A major highlight of the season is the “Roots” collaboration with Mackintosh, the historic Scottish house known for its rubberized fabrics. Kolotouros describes the partnership as “very authentic to the concept,” noting that both iconic brands share similar histories and DNAs. This partnership yields a rain-proof tracksuit and a hybrid track jacket shirt, utilizing hand-glued and hand-taped techniques that have remained largely unchanged since the 19th century.
The color story follows this atmospheric shift, moving from a prism of inky heathers and cool greys to Agave Green and a Rusty Red that mimics the clay of Roland-Garros. To round out the accessories, the Lenglen bag returns with a new silicon grip handle alongside a technical fabric racquet cover and tennis ball clutch.
