Alaïa Just Released Its First-Ever Denim Line
Alongside a campaign starring Mona Tougaard.
A house rooted in craftsmanship and known for its incredible ability to manipulate materials, Alaïa is branching into a whole new fabric with its first-ever denim line. You can expect the most with this one.
With an uncanny ability to create tension between structure and softness (remember that Couture collection made entirely from a thread of wool), this is a natural evolution for the brand. Approaching denim as a second skin, this is a material that can hold shape and flow with the body, bringing both structure and sensuality. From a defined waist to a sculpted hip, these are much more than just a pair of jeans.
Developed over the course of a year with extensive research and refinement, each piece carries an intentional approach to construction, prioritizing simplicity for that perfect fit. Made in Japan, the home of some of the best denim factories, the treatments are carried out with technical mastery. Indigo is rope-dyed to create a depth and permanence to the color, while handwashing, over-dying and laser work reveal the balance between technicality and design language.
The collection comprises the Bootcut, Fit and Flare, Palazzo, Round, Skinny and Straight, subverting all trends and prioritizing timelessness. To mark the debut, Alaïa dropped a campaign lensed by Sam Rock and starring long-time friend of the brand Mona Tougaard.
