These Were The Hottest Brands and Buys of Q1, According to Lyst
Chanel knocked Saint Laurent off the top spot, while Trader Joe’s made a feature.
With the first quarter of 2026 officially behind us, it’s time for some reflection. For the fashion world, that means turning to the Lyst Index, which shares the numbers behind all our spending and research. The index features the hottest brands of the quarter, the it-fashion items and the ones to watch.
This quarter, Chanel landed the coveted spot as the world’s hottest brand, driven by huge visibility behind the newest creative director, Matthieu Blazy, and his debut collections. Being widely shared across social media and unpacked across publications, everyone suddenly wanted to get their hands on a piece of Chanel (specifically the Pumps and maxi Flap Bag). Next up is Saint Laurent, which previously held the spot as the hottest brand, with ambassadors like Charli XCX, Zoë Kravitz and Bella Hadid driving the love. Making up the rest of the top five are Dior, now helmed by creative director It-boy Jonathan Anderson, followed by Miu Miu and Gucci, which climbed four positions and re-entered the Top 5 for the first time since 2022. COS is the only high-street brand to make it into the top 10.
For the hottest products, Saint Laurent dominates. The brand’s viral Stand-Collar Jacket is this quarter’s number one hottest product, with demand spiking 5,550% month-on-month. Another show-stopper was the adidas Chinese Style Track Top, with demand increasing by 960% in March, following Lunar New Year celebrations and trending discourse on social media.
