The Crotch-High UGGs You Never Asked for Just Debuted at Paris Fashion Week
So, how do we feel about these?
Let’s just say that “ugly” shoes are definitely having a moment in fashion right now. From Christopher Kane and Balenciaga Crocs, to dad sneakers like Skechers, footwear styles that were once deemed unappealing are now making a huge comeback. Earlier today at Paris Fashion Week Men’s, Y/Project has brought back yet another old favorite of many — the infamous UGG boots. And yes, they’re thigh-high.
For those who’re familiar with Y/Project, you’d know that the brand never shies away from experimenting with novel designs. Its detachable jeans-to-jorts was a perfect example of that. In an interview with Vogue, the Paris-based label’s creative director Glenn Martens explains the concept for the UGG collaboration:
“Putting on Uggs is like putting your foot in a warm pot of butter, and I thought why not elevate that and immerse your full legs! So we decided to design an Ugg boot that climbs up to the crotch and covers the whole leg.”
Whether you’re a fan of the boots or not, you must admit that they do look pretty comfortable. Right, cozy girls?
