Valentino Took Over a Public Toilet for Paris Fashion Week

Looking at the concept of intimacy, Valentino transported guests to an unlikely venue this Paris Fashion Week season, hosting its Fall/Winter 2025 showcase in… a public toilet. For creative director Alessandro Michele, themes of vulnerability, truth and intimacy collided, providing his starting point for the collection.

“Is it possible to think of intimacy as an access to a profound core of truth as opposed to the masks that mass society imposes on us?” this season’s show notes begin. Michele then looked to a place that “neutralizes and suspends the dualism between inside and outside, between what is intimate and what is exposed,” imagining a public toilet.

Transformed into a vibrant red backdrop that unveils intimacy once and for all, the collection was presented in a “dystopian, disturbing” and “lynchian space.” Presented in true Michele excess, the collection featured 80 looks — far more than most — each drenched in more lace, layering and jewels than the last. This season also previewed a forthcoming collaboration with Vans, which saw Michele rework one of Vans’ most classic silhouettes.
