Yoon Ahn, Noah Cyrus & More Reflect on What It Means to Be a Woman in 2018
“Females are basically what run the world.”
For those who think that female empowerment is merely a fleeting trend, you are sorely mistaken. Throughout the decades, women and their supporters have been fighting for gender equality in different areas of our lives. Now more than ever, their voices are being heard, with movements like #MeToo and Time’s Up rapidly gaining momentum around the world — and this is just the beginning.
With the annual Women’s History Month coming to a close, we have tapped ladies from the realms of fashion, beauty and entertainment to share with us what it really means to be a woman in 2018.
Noah Cyrus tells us, “Men or anyone might try to put you down/might try to make you feel less of yourself because you’re a woman, and that’s just not true.” Yoon Ahn, designer of AMBUSH, has also taken a moment to reflect on the topic: “To be a woman in 2018 means to me that we keep pursuing steadily what is equal and right for those who are the least listened to or respected in the society, and this is regardless of their gender.”
Watch the video above to hear model Justine Biticon, DJ Siobhan Bell, actor and vlogger Asia Jackson as well as content creators Karen Yeung and Anaa Nadim Saber share their thoughts.
