You Can Now Purchase a Nike Air Max 95 Coffin – Because Why Not?
Rest in sneaks.
“‘Til death do us part,” they say, but maybe that doesn’t always have to be the case. Artist Paa Joe has made it possible for sneakerheads to literally be buried in a Nike trainer with his latest art piece “Ghanaian Nike Coffin.” Displayed in Berlin at the Mixed Pickles exhibition, the artist has taken the classic Nike Air Max 95 silhouette and crafted it from a mixture of wood, oil paint and a range of textile fabrics, replicating the famous sneaker. Of course, the iconic lacing system is also visible at top, as well as the Swoosh’s signature Air bubble at the heel.
If you’re looking to cop the coffin for yourself, Paa Joe’s “Ghanian Nike Coffin” is available at RUTTKOWSKI;68 where it retails at a hefty €10,000 EUR (approximately $12,145 USD). Take a look at the colorful casket in the gallery above.
