Here's Your First Look at Kim Jones' New NikeLab Collaboration
Would you cop the new hybrid sneaker?
Since Kim Jones was named as Kriss Van Assche’s successor at Dior Homme back in March, the fashion industry has been waiting with bated breath to witness the designer’s next move in his new position. Alas, the latest announcement of Jones’ movements are not with the luxury fashion house but rather on a project that is perhaps of equal excitement: NikeLab. Initially teased by Jones himself on Instagram, we now get a proper first look at his forthcoming collaboration with Swoosh’s design laboratory.
The forthcoming project includes a mix of footwear and performance apparel. The high-top hybrid sneaker is made up of an array of various silhouettes – the bottom seems to be from an Air Max 360, while the upper incorporates elements from both the Vandal and the Blazer. Rounding off the look, asymmetrical lacing inspired by the Air Footscape NM is also highlighted. In terms of its colorway, the sneaker boasts a tonal white palette constructed from an upper comprised mostly of mesh. Kim Jones branding is also seen on both the VELCRO® ankle strap and air unit. For those who prefer a darker look, the same sneaker is also available in black.
There’s also a selection of high-quality athletic wear available in the Kim Jones x NikeLab capsule. Take a look at the sneakers and apparel above –the collection is available exclusively from Dover Street Market London and the DSM web store.
