The highly anticipated Met Gala has just taken place, this year hosted by Vogue‘s Anna Wintour as well as Rihanna, Donatella Versace and Amal Clooney. Taking on the theme of “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” the event set out to explore the relationship and dialogue between fashion and religious art, with the exhibition showcasing pieces from Coco Chanel, Christóbal Balenciaga, Dior, Jean Paul Gaultier and more, as well as garments borrowed from the Vatican.
Not only is the Met Gala a charity event to support the Metropolitan Museum of Art‘s Costume Institute, it is also one of the biggest nights in fashion. Each year, celebrities show up wearing some of the most extravagant outfits, all aligned with the distinct theme of the gala. This year was no exception, with stars like Bella Hadid, Zendaya, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Cara Delevingne and Cardi B bringing their A-game to the red carpet. From eye-catching one-of-a-kind pieces from Maison Margiela, to bold and blingy looks from Moschino – there’s no doubt that there were a ton of looks to see.
