Converse Teams up With Pigalle x The Sound of Paris
Revealing 5 versions of the iconic Chuck 70s.
Founded in 2008 by Stéphane Ashpool, Pigalle has evolved to represent the dynamic perspectives of Parisian youth through everything from all the latest sneakers to the hottest streetwear brands on the market. For Paris Fashion Week, Pigalle has teamed up with Converse to collaborate at The Sound of Paris, revealing five interpretations of the iconic Chuck 70.
The Chuck 70 silhouette is a modern ode to the Chuck Taylor All Star, taking its retro feel and sporty background and turning it into a symbol of self-expression. For the collaboration, Stéphane Ashpool worked with Converse to create five custom styles, each inspired by one of the performers at The Sounds of Paris.
The sneakers arrive in a silver chrome hue with “duct tape”-insprired detailing throughout, based on artist Muddy Monk. “I chose the metallic fabric for him. We used it on a high Chuck. His music is really dreamy, silver grey fits well for this. It’s a good match with the all mirror outfit,” said Ashpool. The Chuck 70 also sees a glossy gold finish, a white leather with bright green detailing, as well as a smooth burgundy design perfect for day-to-day wear.
The sneakers will be showcased at Pigalle in Paris, and were exclusively designed by Stéphane for this project, and are not for sale. Take a look at each of the shoes in the gallery above and for more Converse, don’t miss the label’s Pride collection designed by Miley Cyrus.
