Louis Vuitton's "Le Jour Se Lève" Smells like Sunshine and I'm in Love
A closer look at the summery fragrance, complete with a personalized bottle.
I’ve long been admiring Louis Vuitton‘s perfume bottles from afar, cautiously obsessing over its antique-like design. Although each LV fragrance has, of course, been meticulously formulated and perfected by the house’s Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, the bottles alone are enough for me to wistfully envision them on my top shelf.
I recently got a chance to try the new parfum, “Le Jour Se Lève” and was pleasantly surprised at how crisp and bright the fragrance was. The brand itself describes the eighth addition to its collection as “a radiant mandarin to taste the first light of dawn.” Loosely translated from French as, “The Day Begins,” the actual smell of the scent does a truly remarkable job of expressing this sentiment. Using a sun-drenched Italian mandarin as the focus of his inspiration, Belletrud further intensifies the citrusy notes with sambac jasmine and blackcurrant. Rounding off the olfactory trip are accents of incense and musk accords, peony accord and osmanthus.
For that extra element of luxury, Louis Vuitton’s perfume bottles offer custom personalization. When you purchase a bottle, you have the option of creating an engraving with either your initials or numbers of your choice. Whether it’s a treat for yourself or a gift for that special someone, an individualized LV fragrance is definitely something to treasure.
You can purchase a bottle of “Le Jour Se Lève” at Louis Vuitton locations in-store and online. The bottles are available in either a 100ml size ($240 USD), or 200ml size ($350 USD).
