Maison Margiela Unveils New FW18 Glam Slam Bags
The “Défilé” collection includes all-new colorways and silhouettes.
After its initial release earlier this year in February, Maison Margiela‘s quirkily puffy Glam Slam bags became an instant star in the countless number of street style snaps that circulated through the interwebs. Creative Director John Galliano now reworks the crowd favorite bags for its forthcoming Fall/Winter 2018 “Défilé” collection. Known for its exaggerated quilting construction, the silhouette shows off dramatically rounded curves and a cloud-like shape. The shoulder bag is rendered with delicate nappa lambskin leather and also features zip closures, as well as a shoulder strap and clear oval resin buckle.
For its latest FW18 offering, new colors and shapes will be introduced to the program including a version dubbed The Carpet, which comes with a chain and leather strap. In addition, a smaller version known as The Pouch will be available in all-new shades of nappa leather in fluorescent pink, yellow, metallic silver, as well as iridescent laser colors. In addition, an iteration has been reworked in a reflective fabric named China Star.
Details are still sparse regarding an exact release for the bags, but stay tuned here as we find out more.
