Aggretsuko Will Return to Netflix for Season 2
Are you ready?
Netflix has announced Aggretsuko will be returning for season 2. In the trailer, the main character Retsuko is shown belting out death metal lyrics at a karaoke spot. In the original animation series, Retsuko is an 25-year-old red panda who is frustrated by her job as an office associate at a Tokyo trading company. To escape, she vents through karaoke.
The anime debuted back in 2016 on a Japanese TBS show directed by Rareko. The show then launched as a Netflix series in April. The cartoon follows Retsuko and her friend’s daily happenings. Season 1 consisted of 10 episodes which were each 15 minutes long.
Rareko shared more details in a press release:
“Stories derived from actual life events that happen in a Japanese workplace, surprisingly, have been received well by a global audience. Aggretsuko will continue to grow within us; stay tuned for the next season.”
Aggretsuko Season 2 will debut in 2019. For more details on the series, head over to the show’s Netflix page.
