Clare Waight Keller Debuts Her First Sneaker Design for Givenchy
Meet the JAW trainer.
Givenchy‘s artistic director Clare Waight Keller debuts an official look at her first urban sport sneaker silhouette for the fashion house. Dubbed the JAW trainer, the model is named after the standout “teeth” on its soles. The distinct offering was first seen during Givenchy’s Fall/Winter 2018 runway presentation. In a press release, the label states the iteration comes packed with cues of footwear from different time periods.
Details include a design reminiscent of the track shoes of the ’60s and ’70s paired with the look of high-tech trainers from the ’90s. Sticking true to current trends, we also see a zip closure, a sock-inspired insert and mesh material throughout the design. Branding appears on the back emblazoned in black font. Notably, the JAW will arrive in an all-white colorway in addition to three color versions with red or blue.
The Givenchy JAW sneaker will be available for purchase on August 17 at Givenchy’s web store. Take a look at the black colorway in the gallery above.
