Nike's Air Max 1 "Diffused Taupe" Is a Smoky Beauty
Ladies only.
As one of the most in-demand models of any sneakerhead’s footwear rotation, the Nike Air Max 1 has endured the test of time since it was first introduced by Tinker Hatfield in 1987. Since its initial debut, the silhouette has been reworked in a plethora of various colorways, textures and even hybrid versions such as the Sean Wotherspoon x Nike Air Max 1/97. Now, Swoosh introduces a women’s only model that is dipped in a palette of beautifully earthy tones.
Dubbed as the “Diffused Taupe” colorway, the sneaker highlights a palette of smoky mauve and taupe tones. As for the construction of the shoe itself, the use of multiple different types of textiles produces a diverse textural effect that includes mesh and suede, as well as a glossy synthetic material. To contrast the body, a crisp white midsole is finished with a classic gum outsole. Of course, a clear Air Max bubble at the heel of the midsole rounds off the look.
The new ladies-only colorway of the Air Max 1 is retailing now for £99.95 GBP (approximately $129 USD). For the time being, the sneaker is only available at Nike UK. However, we definitely have our fingers crossed for a stateside release soon.
