Stella McCartney & adidas Originals Unveil the First-Ever Vegetarian Stan Smith Sneaker
Another sustainable hit from the designer.
Stella McCartney‘s partnership with adidas has been going for a pretty long time, since SS05 to be exact, and it shows no signs of flagging yet. In fact, they’re continuing to innovate over 10 years on with this sustainable Stan Smith sneaker – the first to be completely leather-free.
The vegetarian-friendly shoe features a crisp white upper with tonal elements throughout and perforated stars detailing the iconic Three Stripes on the lateral side. Upon the heel lies a black panel with joint branding and red and black stripes running down toward the midsole. To honor the duo, the faces of Stella McCartney and Stan Smith are stamped onto each tongue respectively, while a light, textured midsole completes the look.
