Tiffany Young's New Single "Born Again" Is Here
Accompanied by a beautifully cinematic music video.
Having just announced her Lips on Lips North American tour, which kicks off on March 3 in Toronto, Tiffany Young now returns with her highly anticipated new single, “Born Again.” Although the beautifully cinematic music video directed by Nikko Lamere portrays stunning visuals to accompany the track, the story behind the song is a much more sobering one. Inspired by the struggles that she faced while confronting her father’s irresponsibilities in business – which resulted in several hostile encounters with debt collectors and lenders alike that would show up at Tiffany’s shows demanding money – the song is about overcoming an immensely dark time in her life.
“Life continues to challenge me and inspire me everyday and I think that is just our human experience,” the singer reflects. “As each day, month and year pass, I am more motivated and feel so humbled by the gifts that I have been given both good and bad. I hope the fans feel that as well. I do this all to be an example.” On what the song means to her, she explains, ““The lyrics come from deep inside me as inspiration to others and to myself to be authentic and find strength in being vulnerable. I hope that this song conveys my willingness to grow and to also show others that even through sad and heartbreaking times, you can not only survive but thrive.”
You can watch the full video for “Born Again” above. Tiffany is currently the only Korean-American nominee in the iHeart Radio Music Awards’ “Best Solo Breakout” category. You can vote for her here, with voting slated to conclude at 11:59 a.m. PST on Friday, March 8.
Her new EP, Lips On Lips, is set to drop February 22.
