Recently, news of ’90s TV reboots and the revivals of our favorite shows from the ’00s has been everywhere. Now, we can add one more nostalgic series to the mix: Disney Channel’s Lizzie McGuire. Hilary Duff confirmed the news through an Instagram post following the D23 expo, detailing that she would be returning to screens to play a grown-up Lizzie in her 30s, working in New York. While the exact format of the show has yet to be revealed, including if any other original cast members will be reprising their roles, we hope that Lizzie’s sassy, animated sidekick will see some screen time.

The modern-day Lizzie McGuire is set to hit the Disney+ streaming service sometime in 2020. The service itself debuts in November this year with a slew of movies and original shows, including the live-action Lady and the Tramp and several Marvel series’. Check out Hilary Duff’s Instagram announcement below, as well as some hilarious fan reactions to the news and stay tuned for updates.
