Street Style at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia Was a Lesson in Layering
See some of Moscow’s most stylish inhabitants.
Though the “Big Four” fashion weeks may be over, previews for the SS20 season are far from over as Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia celebrated local and global talent this past week. Taking place in the capital city of Moscow, the week was a celebration of culture and fashion with designers both emerging and established in the region presenting their upcoming collections.
Aside from the looks on the runway, the street style was just as interesting as locals and international guests stepped up their layering game to combat the unpredictable Russian weather. Outerwear was the statement piece for most, with smartly tailored blazers appearing alongside oversized coats and shiny puffer jackets in tonal hues, neon brights and checked patterns. When it comes to footwear, navigating the city in comfort and style is key and most opted for practical boots like Dr. Martens, trend-led options like knee-high snakeskin-print boots and of course, sneakers, with Eytys’ Jet Turbo, Nike’s M2K Tekno and chunky Buffalos spotted frequently.
