London's Design Museum to Host Prada Retrospective
The first major museum to dedicate a show to the label.
London‘s Design Museum has announced its upcoming exhibition program, including “Prada. Front and Back,” a retrospective of Miuccia Prada‘s history, design process and profound influence on fashion. The opening of the exhibit will mark the first major museum show dedicated to the brand.
“Prada. Front and Back” will not only explore Miuccia’s designs, but also reflect the industrial infrastructure behind one of the most successful fashion houses in the world. A second notable show in the museum’s program includes “Sneakers Unboxed: Studio to Street,” an investigation of sneaker culture and high fashion’s appropriation it. The exhibit guides visitors through three parts — Performance, Street Culture and Fashion — and delves into the production process of popular sneaker styles.
“Prada. Front and Back” is set to open September 2020 and “Sneakers Unboxed: Studio to Street” in May at the Design Museum London. For more information, check out the museum’s website.
