Shay Mitchell Opens up About Motherhood and Baby Atlas in New 'Vogue' Interview
The ‘Pretty Little Liars’ star talks motherhood in the accompanying interview.
After giving birth last month, Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell has shared a first look at her new child, Atlas, in a photoshoot and interview with Vogue. Mitchell detailed the 33-hour-long birth, in her YouTube series “Almost Ready,” but Vogue‘s feature marks Atlas, Shay and longtime partner Matte Babel’s first professional photoshoot together.
The interview covers topics ranging from travel (the name Atlas alludes to Mitchell’s love of globe-trotting) to to tradition (she plans to dress Atlas in her old childhood clothing). Mitchell also addresses the criticism she received after attending Drake‘s 33rd birthday party several weeks after Atlas’ birth. “When Matte and I chose to take our night out, which was an hour and a half, it surprised me that people chose to be so reactive and aggressive and assume the absolute worst about us — and more so me,” she told Vogue.
For her work schedule — Mitchell boasts roles on Netflix thriller You and upcoming comedy Dollface — motherhood has been an adjustment. “I find myself being a lot more present…You reflect on how fast time passes when you’re forced to slow down,” she shared.
