Olympia Le-Tan's "Powerful Women" Bag Collection Pays Homage to Female Narrative

The new range of embroidered clutches features Anna Wintour, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and more.

Known for whimsical clutches resembling books, designer Olympia Le-Tan has released a new collection dubbed “Powerful Women,” available exclusively at Moda Operandi. The range of 12 statement bags, each limited to 16 editions, celebrate the female narrative and feature iconic real-life and fictional women.

On one clutch, Anna Wintour‘s signature bob haircut and sunglasses definitively point to the queen of fashion publishing, while another depicts Ruth Bader Ginsburg next to bold uppercase text reading, “FIGHT FOR THE THINGS YOU CARE ABOUT.” Lucille Ball is embroidered in cartoon style on a bright red bag and the Cleopatra movie poster is recreated on another. The covers of female-authored books including To Kill a MockingbirdLittle Women and Jane Eyre are also immortalized in the collection.

Olympia Le-Tan’s “Powerful Women” capsule collection ranges from $870 to $1,385 USD and is available now on Moda Operandi’s website.
