Come Backstage at Ryan LO's Magical Show at London Fashion Week
Showcasing his Fall/Winter 2019 collection.
London Fashion Week has just kicked off, and it did so with a bang. The first day brought shows from designers like Jamie Wei Huang, Kiko Kostadinov, Ashley Williams and more, and proved that London is the ultimate city for all things fashion. For his Fall/Winter 2019 show, designer Ryan LO put on a fairytale unlike no other, and we had the chance to get an exclusive backstage look at the show’s preparation.
With a show titled ”Moon Lake Serenade!” there’s no doubt we could expect a lot of romanticism. Models paraded down a runway covered with dried flower petals, scattered to give the illusion of a deep lake in the night. Exploring “the chaos of present day,” the designer focused primarily on tones of black, white and pink throughout the range. Starting off with a model pushing an old-time stroller covered in lace, the elegant pieces set the tone for the rest of the presentation.
Presenting everything from his signature knitwear to intricate dresses, Ryan LO emphasized feminine silhouettes and tailoring to create a fairytale-inspired saga which we all have dreamt about in the past. For the collection Lo also collaborated with Stephen Jones on extravagant ear muffs, bearskin hats and more eye-catching headwear, finishing off the already eccentric looks with an edgy, high-fashion touch.
