This morning the Chicago-based music festival Lollapalooza announced Ariana Grande as a major headliner for its 2019 lineup. Other big names included in the roster are Janelle Monáe, Childish Gambino, Grammy winner H.E.R., Lil Wayne, Tame Impala and Death Cab for Cutie. According to Variety, 170 bands will grace the stage at Chicago’s Grant Park for Lollapalooza from August 1-4.
2019 has undoubtedly been a standout year for Grande who dropped the Billboard chart-topping album, “thank u, next” earlier this year. Additionally, she kicked off her Sweetener tour. For her first stop, she paid tribute to Mac Miller.
Monáe also kicked off this year swinging with two Grammy nominations: Album of the Year for Dirty Computer and Best Music Video for “PYNK.” Though she didn’t win either award, she gave a riveting performance of her energetic, bass-heavy single “Make Me Feel” at the star-studded ceremony.
