Frankie Collective's Reworked Nike Mini Bag Is Inspired by Gaby Seranno's Air Max 98 “La Mezcla”
Just Swoosh it.
After dreaming up a tactical vest and a utility belt bag inspired by the futuristic, color-shifting Air Max Deluxe in “Black/Laser Fuchsia,” Vancouver-based streetwear label Frankie Collective has returned to unveil its latest reworked creation in a HYPEBAE-exclusive editorial.
The images are an homage to the Air Max 98 designed by 2018 “Nike: On Air” winner, New York-based Gabrielle “Gaby” Seranno, who’s also known as Queen Leo on Instagram. Dubbed “La Mezcla,” the stylish runners are directly inspired by the city that Seranno calls home, with the uppers displaying a beautiful gradient of different skin complexions.
“The Swoosh is a Statue of Liberty color to represent what immigrants first saw when they came to New York, a sign of freedom and safety,” the designer herself tells us in our interview. The shoes also come with two options for laces, including a New York blue and a Statue of Liberty-inspired color.

Borrowing the color scheme of the sneakers, Frankie Collective has created an on-trend mini bag emblazoned with a green Swoosh — the design is topped off with clear handles, too. Scroll through the gallery above to see it for yourself, where the accessory is styled with the Air Max 98 “La Mezcla” and a color-matching, vintage Nike windbreaker.
Priced at $200 USD, Gaby Serrano’s Air Max 98 “La Mezcla” will be available for purchase on the SNKRS app on Saturday, April 13. Set your alarm as the shoes are scheduled to drop at 7:00 a.m. EST.
