The stars have arrived at the annual CFDA Fashion Awards, held tonight at the Brooklyn Museum in New York. The 2019 edition of the event marks the first year Tom Ford is serving as chairman of the Council of Fashion Designers of America — it was announced back in March that the designer would succeed Diane von Furstenberg, who held the position for more than a decade.
With Marc Jacobs, Kerby Jean-Raymond, Virgil Abloh and more among this year’s list of nominees, the occasion celebrates some of the most influential designers and emerging talents who are responsible for shaping the vibrant scene of American fashion. Notably, Jennifer Lopez (who wears a stunning, custom Ralph Lauren two-piece tonight) and the Barbie doll are also honored this evening with the Fashion Icon Award and the Board of Directors’ Tribute respectively.
On the red carpet, we see a succession of head-turning looks from some of our favorite names in the fashion industry. Emily Ratajkowski attends the event in a bustier-pants ensemble from HELLESSY styled with sleek gold sandals by Tabitha Simmons, while Bella Hadid opts for a low-cut, sparkly black gown by homegrown designer Michael Kors. Winnie Harlow‘s purple-hued, feather-covered mini dress by Christian Siriano serves up campy vibes. Also dressed up by Siriano, Ashley Graham stuns in a très chic all-black outfit complete with a matching hat.
